Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children Pennsylvania (WIC, by its initials in English)
Program Description
The WIC Program provides supplemental foods, nutrition education and referrals to health care, without cost, low-income pregnant women, breastfeeding and postpartum state, and infants and children up to age 5 who are determined to be at nutritional risk.

Program Description
The Head Start program (for children 3 to 5 years) and Early Head Start (for pregnant women, infants and toddlers) promote school readiness for children in low-income families by providing comprehensive educational, health , nutritional and social.
Parents play a large role in the programs, both as primary educators of their children as participants in local government programs. Both programs provide experiences pre-literacy and literacy in a multicultural environment. Parents are also provided social services, including assistance with child care.
Services are also available to families of migrant farm workers and temporary.
